From 2007 until 2021, I worked at the UD. For those 14 years, I took thousands of photographs on campus as part of my job. This is in addition to photographing several weddings at the Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception on UD’s campus as part of my wedding photography business. I have photographed every inch of every public space on campus, and I can create amazing UD wedding photos for you too.
Dayton Flyers weddings are awesome for me because I love to talk about anything and everything UD with the wedding couple. I first stepped foot on campus in 1997, and I love discussing with clients how the campus has changed in 30 years.
A Dayton Flyers wedding is beautiful in this gorgeous chapel situated in the center of campus. This church and campus are just 2 miles south of downtown Dayton, Ohio. Alongside the historic Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception, there are many excellent locations across campus. Knowing where to create wedding photos comes easily to me. Why Have Your Wedding at the University of Dayton Chapel?
Because weddings take place only in the afternoon, the sun often shines too brightly after the ceremony. I prefer photographing weddings just north of the chapel, where the shade is perfect and the entire front facade of the UD Chapel appears in the background. Using the large trees to the west of the chapel and shooting from the west side of St. Mary’s Hall is an optimal choice. The afternoon light is great for church lighting but is harsh and unpleasing for post-wedding photos on the western facade steps.

Best Places for Wedding Photos Around the UD Chapel
During a summer’s wedding, we started creating wedding photos at Second Street Market / 2nd Street Market MetroPark. We also visited Deed’s Point MetroPark. The reception was at Top Of The Market Events And Banquet Center. We also visited the University of Dayton to create candid photographs in front of its renovated Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception.
UD’s Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception is now a gorgeous LEED-certified wedding venue. It is the perfect place for Dayton photography. Dayton photographers, like me, should jump at the chance to photograph a wedding at this great venue because top-notch Dayton wedding photography is easy here. Cincinnati wedding photographers could book UD chapel as well. It is easily one of the best, most well-lighted churches I’ve ever photographed.
