University Of Dayton Photos & UD Flyers Engagement Session Location Info

University Of Dayton Description

A UD engagement session is one of my favorite places to do portraits in Dayton. My day job from 2007 to 2014 was at UD. I have more experience photographing UD than any other wedding or engagement photographer in Dayton Ohio. Are you a UD Flyer? Are you a UD fan, or UD alumni? If so, consider having your engagement photos taken at the University of Dayton. Contact me today!

The University of Dayton offers virtually endless photo opportunities. There is any number of meaningful locations on campus such as dorms, houses, academic buildings, open spaces, and even UD Arena. Whatever was a meaningful area of your college experience can be a memorable part of your engagement photos. I give extra time to couples who want to photograph at the University of Dayton!!

“I hired Kevin Lush to photograph my proposal and get engagement photos afterward. He was very professional, and very knowledgeable, both with photography in general and with his knowledge of UD’s Campus. (Kevin) went above and beyond, rigging up our proposal spot with cameras ahead of time, and editing the footage into a beautiful video he sent us afterwards. He did a fantastic job, and I’m very pleased I used him as an engagement photographer.” – Kevin O. May 2024

Photographing New Couples

Each year I photograph at least one newly engaged couple on the campus of UD. These are always fun for me because the campus has incredible locations where I can create beautiful and meaningful engagement photos. Some popular locations are porches, student neighborhood street signs, and the UD sign at Caldwell and Brown Street. I take each couple on a photographic journey through campus capturing numerous memories from their time there. I photograph UD alumni and non-alumni on the UD campus. Contact me to set up a time!

While we are on the topic of UD, I suggest having your wedding at the Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception and your wedding at the Marriott At The University Of Dayton.

UD Flyer Engagement Photos Of Two Alumni And Their Dog

In October 2024, I was contacted by a wonderful couple to photograph their engagement session. They were having the wedding away from Dayton and wanted their engagement session in Dayton because they both went to school there. He is a doctor. She works for a large company and they hired me to do one hour of photos at the University of Dayton and one hour of photos at the Dayton Art Institute. I love UD Flyer engagement photos so much!

Creating UD Flyer Engagement Photos

They both graduated from UD during the years when I worked there. I did not know them, of course, but it was cool sharing our experiences. We had a lot to talk about and a lot in common. We talked a lot about campus and different things that I’ve photographed there. It was a great hour because I photographed so many things at UD over 14 years, and I knew so many photo opportunities. Plus, doing weddings and engagements there, I have an in-depth knowledge of the places that people like to go. The places I like to photograph and the things I like to see there had me excited. I took several photos in front of Saint Joseph’s Hall, some in front of Saint Mary’s, some in front of the chapel, some behind Albert Emmanuel Hall, and other little places in the central campus area.

Dogs At Your Engagement Session

They had initially brought their dog to the University of Dayton. He was very cute and well-behaved and he always looked at the camera when I yelled for him. So that was quite a nice treat for me. I enjoy having dogs at engagement sessions, weddings, senior sessions, and at pretty much every other session I do. It is fun. I do recommend that people have a dog wrangler with them so that we don’t have to hold the dog the whole time. At this session, the dog was so small and well-trained that he just stood by himself when we told him to stay. The rest of the time he was in the car with windows down.

So, if you’re looking for a UD photographer with 14 years of experience on campus, plus several weddings, engagement sessions, and UD senior sessions, contact me today. I also love photographing at the Dayton Art Institute!

UD Marriage Proposal Photography And Engagement Session

Once or twice per year a soon-to-be-engaged client hires me photograph a marriage proposal. My first proposal for 2024 took place on the campus of the University of Dayton. Having worked on campus for 14 years, a UD marriage proposal is extra special.

How I Photographed A UD Marriage Proposal

The groom-to-be shared his location with me about an hour before the proposal start time. I was on campus watching my phone to see where he was. As he approached campus, I hid behind an evergreen tree near the library. Basically, I pretended to photograph the area in case they spotted me. I saw them walk in front of St. Mary’s Hall on a short walk around campus. After they were out of sight, I set up two video cameras to capture the proposal. Finally, I then returned to hiding.

The couple approached the gazebo behind Albert Emanuel Hall. I started photographing from the tree. They entered the gazebo and began to talk. During this time, my video cameras were capturing the entire thing. I ran up to photograph the proposal as he got down on one knee. Afterward, the bride-to-be soaked up the moment after glancing at me momentarily. I took a ton of photos to ensure I would capture the moment. After she said “Yes!” they hugged for a few moments. After a few minutes alone, we spent an hour creating true UD engagement session photos around UD.
