An engagement session is an on-location portrait experience that captures your love and excitement ahead of your wedding. It is an opportunity for us to connect and build a rapport. As an engagement photographer, my goal is to tell your unique story while making you feel like a rock star.

How Much Is A Dayton Engagement Photography Session?

1-Hour engagement session is $550 + tax.
2-Hour engagement session is $700 + tax
1-Hour marriage proposal session is $550 + tax

Dayton Engagement Photography FAQ

What should I wear for my engagement photos?

Coordinate outfits without matching one another. Wear outfits that make you feel comfortable. Multiple outfits are ok, but most locations don't have a place to change.

Can we bring our pet to our engagement shoot?

I am always in favor of bringing pets to your engagement session. If you choose to bring a dog, it is a good idea to bring a third person with you to handle the dog for the remainder of your session.

Should our outfits fit the engagement location we choose?

Yes! Choosing outfits that complement the season will give your images an even more pleasing look.

Can we share our engagement posing and location ideas with you?

Sharing photo ideas with me is always great. Send me a Pinterest board or email me if you have collected ideas for your engagement session.

What kind of props can we bring to our engagement?

Many people choose to bring chalkboards or signs with their wedding date on them. Other people bring items from their favorite hobbies (books, wine, games) and more.

Do you have a favorite engagement session location?

The Oregon District is my favorite location due to its historic buildings, brick streets, eclectic architecture, and vibrant colors.

What happens if we are running late for our engagement session?

Your session is one-hour. Showing up late will reduce the number of images I capture and will create a rushed session. Please text or call if you are running late. I am always early, so also call or text if you arrive early.

Should we wear comfortable or stylish shoes to our engagement session?

If you wear uncomfortable shoes, bring other shoes for walking between locations.

What time of day can we have our engagement photos taken?

You will get the most pleasing images early in the morning and an hour before sunset.

Should I worry about not being good at posing?

Most couples have no experience being in front of a camera. I will work with you to create the most pleasing and natural engagement photos that capture your personality.

Will I have fun getting my photos taken?

I keep the engagement session fun and casual to keep you relaxed and smiling.

Do you travel for engagement sessions?

Yes! I will go anywhere for engagement sessions but remember anything outside of Dayton, Cincinnati, or Columbus is additional.

Are my engagement photos posted to an online gallery?

Yes! All full-resolution engagement images are delivered via an online gallery and can be downloaded or shared immediately. Images stay online for at least 90 days.

Should our engagement session location be meaningful?

Choose a location that is meaningful to you or look below for suggestions. I am happy to answer questions and make recommendations. As a Dayton photographer, I can always suggest locations to you.

When can we view our engagement pictures?

All engagement photos are delivered in a high-quality online gallery within one day of your engagement session.

Should I get my hair and makeup done professionally before our engagement photos?

Having your hair and makeup professionally done is great although this is not always possible.

How many engagement photos will I receive?

Typically you receive 50-70 images that you can use for centerpieces, guest books, save the dates, decorations, or anything else you can envision.

How long does an engagement session last?

The free session usually lasts one hour while the paid lasts 90 minutes.

When should we book our engagement session?

You can schedule your shoot anytime between when you book and 1 month before your wedding day.

What happens if rain is in the forecast?

In the days leading up to your session, we will be in contact regarding the weather. Rescheduling happens, and it isn't a big deal.

How do you return our photographs so quickly (24 hours)?

I spend a few extra seconds making the photo correctly in the camera thus greatly reducing the amount of post-processing time required.

Can we use an engagement location you don’t suggest?

My list of engagement session locations in Dayton and Cincinnati are just suggestions. I am always looking for new and exciting locations to capture engagement photos.

Do you travel to other parts of Ohio or to other states for an engagement session?

I sure do! I have traveled to many places for engagements and weddings. Just ask!

Can I choose a Winter date for my engagement shoot?

You can choose any time of the year for your engagement session.
