Having a wedding at Dayton’s best science museum is an awesome idea for people who love science. The museum is a quirky wedding venue that allows wedding guests to enjoy the wedding festivities as well as the museum exhibits. Guests can also enjoy the live animal exhibits at the back of the museum. One of the best parts is the planetarium show that takes place for everyone just before the ceremony.
Review: “Kevin not only took amazing photos but really rose above his job description and helped the whole evening flow. My friends thought he was super cool, even before they saw his great photographs! Kevin comes with my highest recommendation! A+++” – Melanie C
Dayton’s natural history museum on Deweese Parkway just north of downtown, is one of the most unique wedding venues in Ohio. Weddings are held in either the planetarium or on an outdoor stage with planetarium weddings being the coolest. Guests gather before the ceremony in the lobby featuring a large dinosaur skeleton. It is great watching the guests’ amazement upon entering the museum.
During ceremonies, guests are seated in large reclined chairs in the planetarium and are treated to a short star show featuring key dates in the wedding couple’s life together. Post-ceremony, guests head upstairs to the large event space which is the perfect space for a great wedding reception. Just outside of the event space is a separate bar area for drinks and snacks.
The bridal suite is in the former planetarium that closed in the 1990s. Choose this Dayton wedding venue if you want a fun and memorable Dayton wedding venue. Take a look at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery wedding website for more info. I enjoy being a Boonshoft Museum wedding photographer.
