Wildflower Woods, an outdoor wedding and reception venue in Fredericktown, Ohio is a classy place for an outside. wedding. The property is Located 90 minutes south of Cleveland and 60 minutes north of Columbus. Accessibility to a large section of Ohio’s population is a great strength. Purpose built on a former Christmas tree farm, this secluded and picturesque wedding facility is great for small outdoor weddings.
Up a well-manicured grass path is a grassy area surrounded by large trees. The venue staff setup nice folding chairs for each event and some type of pergola for ceremony centerpiece. For this wedding, there were two sets of 6 rows each, one set for each bride. Seating faces the easy, so the sun should not be in the guests’ eyes. On the day of my first wedding there, it was one of the hottest days of the year. And of course, no wind anywhere. This is one of the best wedding photo spots I have ever seen. You can find it just below the ceremony location. It is the top of the path leading to the ceremony and is the entry point. I love the many layers of grass, bushes, and trees. So many layers of green make this beautiful.

Down the hill from Wildflower Woods’ ceremony area is a two-park reception area. First is the dinner area, located inside perfectly aligned rows and columns of really tall evergreen Christmas trees. Two long tables were set between the trees, with candles (lights), and perfectly-curated tablescapes. It looked like Sandra Lee meets Twilight (movies). If there was fog and rain, you would think you were in the fictitious village of Forks. When I had first met the couple, I told them about the Twilight vibe I was getting.
The dinner tables were long with seating for everyone. At the far north of the tables was the table for both brides. They had large thrones to sit in. For dinner, a mobile wood-fired pizza oven catered the event. It was the first time I’ve every seen one at a wedding.

The large, permanent tent was a visual fixture at the center of Wildflower Woods. It sat just south of the Christmas tree seating area. The tent was plenty big for the number of guests. There was room enough for the bar, a cake cable, and the dinner pizza buffet. The couple also opted to have a vintage couch brought in for photos and seating. Because it was so hot, the venue provided large industrial fans to try to cool everyone. There is nowhere except the ground-level getting ready room with any air conditioning. On my few short breaks, I blasted the A/C in my car.
There are a few real restrooms at Wildflower Woods. A storage building also has individual restrooms built into the east side of it. There is no fan and no air conditioning. They get hot!
The other facility on the property is the owner’s daughter’s house which doubles as a medium size getting ready suite. There is a lighted vanity and area to get dressed, all behind a curtain. On the other side of the curtain is the living room of the house with a small table and couch. The day I was there, only the two brides were getting ready, and it was comfortable. On hot days with hair stylists and makeup artists, this would get cramped and warm.
Wildflower Woods, a central Ohio wedding & reception venue is great for wedding couples located between Columbus and Cleveland.
