What I Saw In Log Angeles

Universal Studios CityWalk

While I am not a fan of visiting them parks while on vacation somewhere like L.A., I decided to check it out one night. Universal Studios CityWalk in Hollywood is an entertainment, dining, and shopping district located just adjacent to Universal Studios Hollywood. This consumer entertainment district is a perfect destination for both theme park visitors and tourists looking for fun without a park ticket. Open daily, CityWalk is packed with energy, offering something for everyone. Check out this Los Angeles tourist attraction if it interests you.

Stroll along the neon-lit walkways to see the craziness especially on weekend nights. Enjoy quick bites, sit-down meals, or a sweet treat while soaking in the upbeat atmosphere. Shoppers can explore unique boutiques and brand-name stores, from apparel and souvenirs to Hollywood-themed gifts. This version of CityWalk is so much better than the Orlando one. The compact and towering nature of the L.A. one made for a more impactful experience for me.

Live music and street performers bring an added layer of excitement. For movie lovers, the Universal Cinema offers first run movies. I don’t go on vacation to see movies, so I did not visit the move theater.

Whether you’re grabbing dinner after a day at the park or spending the evening exploring with friends or family, CityWalk offers a convenient destination. With free admission and hours of entertainment, it’s a must-visit spot in Los Angeles for a taste of Universal Studios—without ever stepping inside the theme park.

Hollywood

Hollywood proper is definitely a Los Angeles tourist attraction trap that I don’t really care to visit again. We visited the Dolby Theatre, the Holllywood Walk of Fame, TCL Chinese Theatre, and some tourist gift shops. Our only reason to visit was to kill time between our studio tour and our tour of Dodger Stadium. There is plenty of cheap parking under the Dolby Theatre at Ovation. Also, there is plenty of decent restrooms here as well.

Randy’s Donuts

Randy’s Donuts has been an LA icon for years, and I’ve seen it in numerous movies. Since my hotel was close by, I decided to get some late night baked goods. The selection of doughnuts was outstanding, even at 11pm. The location is near the highway on an unassuming corner. Plenty of free parking is available in the parking lot to the west of the bakery.

The Brady Bunch House

While we were in the area, I surprised my uncle and took him to see the Brady Bunch house! We were on the Warner Bros. lot, and the Brady house was close by. It is in a beautiful old neighborhood with plenty of street parking. We were respectful and quiet, only spending a few minutes on the sidewalk.
