An Autumn Wegerzyn Gardens Wedding Portrait Session

In September 2020, I photographed a fantastic and fun wedding at Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. Between getting ready time and the wedding ceremony, we went to Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark on Deweese Parkway to do all the formal wedding photos. At this beautiful park just off Siebenthaller in north Dayton, we did all of the family photos, wedding party photos, and wedding portraits. It was a cloudy day and was perfect for outdoor portraits. The bride and groom were up for anything which always makes my job easier! A Wegerzyn Gardens wedding portrait session requires a permit, so be prepared!

Wegerzyn is a good place for wedding photos and family wedding photos assuming it is not prom or homecoming season. During those weekends, the park will be overrun with groups. There is plenty of large open space that can hold dozens of people for photos. There are also plenty of sunny spots and shady spots for you to use. Try to avoid afternoon photos as the wedding party can get hot. Full sun overhead is not good for photos either. I recommend this park for wedding photos in the Dayton area if you are close by.
