The My Morning Jacket concert at Riverbend Music Center‘s PNC Pavilion on June 22, 2017, was outstanding!  I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph the concert on behalf of the band!  MMJ’s opening act was an awesome trio named The Record Company.  I highly recommend you check out the music from both groups and see them in concert!

As a rule, I don’t listen to a “new to me” artist’s music before the show.  I want the visuals and the audio to come together to form a first impression.  When those two combine to create something awesome, it excites me.  I then have a new group to listen to, sometimes with many albums to discover.

About The My Morning Jacket Concert In 2017

This was the opening night of the summer 2017 tour! With Jim James, Tom Blankenship, Patrick Hallahan, Carl Broemel, and Bo Koster. The group used the small PNC Pavilion stage as they weren’t a 20,000-fan draw. Regardless, the band put on an amazing show with music that I find enjoyable. It is one my favorite concert photography experiences, so far. Thanks to Riverbend for having me!
