620 Geyer Street in the Dayton View Historic District is an abandoned warehouse with an unique shape. The wedge shaped or pie shaped building sits in the middle of an old neighborhood and is locked up. It is a beautiful reminder of the history of Dayton, Ohio.
The St. Anne’s Hill Historic District overlooking downtown Dayton is filled with old, beautiful, eclectic house from many many decades ago. This neighborhood just east of downtown has dozens of home through the district, with the largest and most beautiful sitting atop a hill next to Stivers High School. Although this is not commercial photography, I am a commercial photographer in Dayton. It is a pleasure being a Dayton photographer and creating Dayton photography.
Hawthorne Hill was the Oakwood Ohio home of Orville Wright. It is a large, beautiful, White House like home atop a grand hill facing downtown Dayton. This property is currently managed by Dayton History, Dayton’s historic property organization. I have wanted to photograph this historic Dayton mansion for years, and I finally did it in March 2021. I am primarily a Dayton wedding photographer, but in my free time I love just being a Dayton photographer. If you are in need of commercial photography, contact me today.
Apex Commercial Group manages the historic Dayton Motor Car Building in Oregon District East. This is a beautifully revitalized building that now houses Gossiger Inc. The redevelopment of this property is just another step in the comeback of downtown Dayton Ohio and surrounding areas. Weyland Ventures is responsible for the rehab and revitalization of the Dayton Motor Car Building.
Mike’s Bike Park on East First Street in downtown Dayton is an awesome hidden gem in Dayton. I stopped by this bike store and multi-level bike track / bike riding venue in March 2021. The store is large and the employees are very friendly. I didn’t know what to expect, so I was blown away. There are two full storys of ramps, jumps, and paths to ride bikes on indoors. You can rent or buy bikes and parts at the store as well. Definitely check out this Dayton original. I am a Dayton commercial photographer who create impactful commercial photography images.
After having been in the Dayton Arcade so many times since 2017, I decided to try to create some unique artistic images of the Dayton Arcade. For some, I used a circular mirror to capture this historic Dayton building. The rotunda is so large and tall that it is hard to cature to floor and ceiling at once. To that end, see the photos below and see the floor along with the ceiling.
The Dayton Arcade is set to be the newest Dayton wedding, reception, and event venue. Culture Works has been chosen as the event manager at the Dayton Arcade. They will be managing events in the rotunda and The Tank at the Arcade. Elite Catering, Bernstein’s Fine Catering, and Kohler Catering are the three caterers picked to work events at the Arcade. I plan to shoot a lot of weddings at the Dayton Arcade and will be a Dayton Arcade Photographer. I am the wedding photographer with the most experience photographing the Dayton Arcade. I have been going into the arcade for more than 5 years (since May 2017). Contact me today to see a sample gallery of my Dayton Arcade images and to get started booking your Dayton Arcade wedding today!
The Historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio is a movie set filming location and tourist attraction approximately 75 minutes north of Columbus on I-71. It was the prison featured prominently in The Shawshank Redemption starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman in 1994. If you are into urban exploration, movie locations (filming locations), or Ohio history, the former penitentiary is an amazing location to visit.
On August 30, 2020, I was able to capture Midwest Helicopter Airways lifting large air conditioning units atop the Dayton Arcade. The lift started around 7:45 am and lasted about an hour. It was amazing, loud, and windy. This really old heavy lift helicopter made several trips between an empty lot and the top of the 9-building complex in downtown Dayton Ohio.
Restoration and revitalization of the historic Dayton Arcade is a 9 building complex that is sandwiched between Main Street, Ludlow Street, Third Street, and Fourth Street in Downtown Dayton’s core business district. Cross Street Partners, Model Group, and McCormack Baron Salazar along with the City of Dayton and Montgomery County are bringing this circa 1904 building back to life.
