Brooklyn Bridge At Sunrise From Manhattan Looking East To Brooklyn Summer 2022

In August 2022 I took my wife on our fifth trip to New York City. This trip was a birthday surprise to see the opening night concert of a Harry Styles residency at this historic Madison Square Garden. While spending several nights in the West Village, we did plenty of sightseeing. Below are some great photos of and from the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise.

Photographing The Brooklyn Bridge At Sunrise

I woke up before dawn, got my running stuff on, and headed out onto the streets of lower Manhattan. Although I am very slow, I really enjoy running. When I am on vacation anywhere, I really love combining running and photography. I always feel like no one exercises on vacation, so I am doing extra great work by doing so. I ran 1.5 miles from the hotel, east to the base of the Brooklyn Bridge. Having been to NYC many times, I am quite familiar with locations and directions.

I reached the western base of the bridge while blaring Taylor Swift in my AirPods. It was a beautiful summer morning with an even more beautiful sunrise over Brooklyn. I decided to keep running until reaching the center point of the bridge. Once there, I spent 30 minutes photographing the bridge and the Financial District of Manhattan from atop the bridge.

Being so early in the morning on a Saturday, there was less traffic and only a handful of people on the bridge. I was able to capture numerous symmetrical photos of this worldwide architectural icon (designed by Roebling) without any people in it. These are the best and also my favorite Brooklyn Bridge photos I have ever taken. I am a Dayton Ohio based travel photographer.
