Deeds Point MetroPark Photos & Engagement Session Location Info

Deeds Point MetroPark Description

Along with RiverScape MetroPark, Deeds Point MetroPark form a less popular engagement session location in Dayton Ohio. These two parks are adjacent to downtown Dayton and provide gorgeous views of the Dayton skyline and the Great Miami River.

With the re-addition of the pedestrian bridge, this park has gotten even better. The small lawn is good for some nature-themed photos while the walkways are good for downtown Dayton cityscape photos. During the warm months, you can even take photos with the RiverScape fountains or better yet, in the fountains. See some of the awesome engagement photos below. I will warn you there is very little shade, so choosing a very sunny part of the day will not be pleasing in your photos. Golden hour or early in the morning are best. If you choose golden hour, you can get a beautiful sunset behind downtown Dayton and the river. Deeds Point MetroPark is often less busy thank other parks in the area.

A Soaking Wet Fountain Engagement Session In Dayton

This fantastic Dayton couple had a really fun Dayton engagement session with me in the Oregon District and Deeds Point MetroPark. This engagement shoot started with some awesome Dayton-centric backdrops. This was the only engagement session in a fountain I’ve ever done and was where the rivers meet near downtown.

What made this session extra fun is that we ended the shoot in the RiverScape MetroPark fountains. We knew the Riverscape fountain schedule ahead of time and made sure to be there early. As soon as the water started shooting out, we ran from Deeds Point down the hill to the bike path. They only ran for a few minutes, and we acted fast. They danced in the fountain, hugging and kissing each other the entire time. It was incredibly fun. The couple was 100% soaked by the end. Thankfully, my professional camera gear is weather-sealed and sustained no damage.

Deeds Point MetroPark & Riverscape Are A Perfect Combination For An Engagement Session

Located in the north west section of downtown Dayton, the Riverscape Fountains offer a refreshing stop for sweaty bicyclists and a beautiful water show for everyone. These water features have become an iconic symbol of the city. With a perfectly synchronized dance of water jets, the fountains provide entertainment and joy. Whether it’s children joyfully splashing about, couples strolling hand in hand, or friends gathering for a picnic on the nearby grassy RiverScape, the fountains create an atmosphere of togetherness. As the water dances under the warm rays of the sun, the fountains are a momentary silencing of the busy downtown Dayton streets.

It is my pleasure to create beautiful engagement photography at this great Dayton engagement session location.

A Downtown Dayton Engagement Session At 2 Iconic Engagement Locations

On one of the windiest days of 2022 in Dayton, Ohio, I photographed this newly engaged couple at Deeds Point MetroPark and the Oregon District. As an engagement photographer in Dayton, I have photographed at both locations many times. Deeds Point is beautiful and overlooks downtown and the Great Miami River. The five MetroParks fountains and a Wright Brothers statue are at this park. Other than those things, this park is small.

Our goal was to split our time between these two locations, but due to the wind, we spent more time in the historic Oregon District. This was the couple’s decision, and I agreed. Photographing this couple was super easy because they were really affectionate and smiled a lot. When I don’t have to pull the emotions out of my couples, it makes my job a little easier. I was extra impressed with these two since they were dealing with the cold and the wind. Great job!

This couple was one of the most fun couples I have photographed. I wish that we hadn’t had to deal with the wind. Unexpected situations happen, so I just have to roll with it. They were happy with these photos which is always good to hear. My favorite one is the black and white shot where they are almost kissing with the Riverscape fountains blurred in the background.
