Seattle’s Museum Of Flight At Boeing Field Seattle Washington Aviation Photography

The Museum of Flight is in Seattle, Washington. It is located next to Boeing Field. This is a great small aviation museum just south of downtown. It has amazing airplanes and a fantastic view of the nearby runway. I took the city bus to what I thought was the correct stop. It turns out I was 2 miles short of the correct stop. This was an incredible stroke of genius on my part. I got to walk by the Boeing Co. on the east side of the street and the west side of the street. There were so many cool planes being repaired or refurbished, and I could see them through the fences. My goal was to create beautiful Seattle Washington aviation photography that day.

Creating Seattle Washington Aviation Photography

Upon arriving after my two-mile walk, I had less than an hour to photograph this Seattle area aviation museum. I ran through the museum photographing as many historic aircraft as possible. I took my time to walk through the Concorde, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and a Boeing 747. It is a dream of mine to fly on a Boeing 747 and a Boeing 787, but a walk-through was delightful. I am for hire as an aviation photographer.

If you have a few hours free on your Pacific Northwest vacation and you love aviation, visit the Museum of Flight. Make it a stop on your trip. Even if you have a pre-paid ticket as I did, you’ll still have to wait in the ticketing line to get your entry ticket. When you are in a hurry, this can be frustrating. That took another 20 minutes off my trip, but I still had a great time here creating Seattle Washington aviation photography.

In 2022 I was allowed to visit four world-class aviation museums in the USA. Three were in other states and 1 was at home in Dayton, Ohio. While this one in Washington State was not the biggest, it was awesome due to the history of Boeing being directly next door. It was a plane lover’s dream!

Walk On A Boeing 747 And Boeing 787 And A Concorde Airplane In Seattle Washington

Seattle’s Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington, is a wonderful small aviation museum that has great views of Boeing Field. I had less than an hour to photograph this Seattle museum as I took a bus to and from the museum. I quickly ran through the museum photographing as many historic aircraft as possible. My goal was to walk on a Boeing 747 and Boeing 787. Did I accomplish my goal?

I did take my time to walk through a Concorde, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and a Boeing 747. It is a dream of mine to one day fly on a 747 and a 787, but a walk-through was delightful. I love the interior of the 787 but love the exterior of the 747. Walking on all three planes was great. Now I just need to fly on the two that are not retired.

Poor Ticketing Process

One thing I didn’t like here was the ticketing process. I purchased an online ticket in anticipation of the abbreviated time I would have at the museum. When I arrived, I tried to enter, only to be told that I had to wait in line to exchange my ticket for a wristband. There is no line for people who made an online purchase, so I had to stand in line with everyone else. This cut 20 minutes off my experience, but what could I do?

This is the only museum of any kind that I have been to where there are exhibits on each side of the street. The coolest and largest aircraft were on the west side of the road after you go across the bridge. I could not believe that I would get to talk through a Boeing 747 and also a Concorde. I had only seen my first Concorde earlier this year at the Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian Air And Space Museum. The one today was open to walk though, and I couldn’t believe how cramped it was. The 747 was a test plane so it was not filled with seats. It was still amazing to be in one, finally.

Seattle Washington’s Best Aviation Experience Is Seattle’s Museum Of Flight

Seattle’s best aviation experience Is the Museum of Flight just south of downtown. It is a great small aviation museum that has amazing views of Boeing Field. I only had 45 minutes to photograph this Seattle museum as I took a bus to and from the museum. Running through the museum and photographing as many historic aircraft as possible was quite a challenge. I did take my time to walk through the Concorde, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and a Boeing 747. It is a dream of mine to fly on a 747 and a 787, but a walk-through was delightful. If you have free time on your Seattle Washington vacation and you love aviation, make the Museum of Flight a stop on your trip.

The aviation photos below are just a few that I captured in my short time at this attraction. I love the lunar capsule with the moon behind it. What a cool way to display this historic artifact. Many of the other airplanes were parked and very accessible, much more so than at other museums I have visited. I enjoyed being able to walk above some of the aircraft and photograph them from above.
