From 2007 until 2021 I was an unofficial photographer for the University of Dayton. My primary role was in I.T., but I often walked UD’s campus with my camera. Below are some of my favorite photos I took while being a UD photographer. The University of Dayton enrollment and admission materials including the University of Dayton Magazine used my images. They also mailed tens of thousands of postcards to prospective students.
My images have reached a vast audience, including hundreds of thousands of potential UD students and current students. They have also been seen by parents, faculty, and staff. It was such an honor being published so many times as a UD photographer. Additionally, being so familiar with UD led to photographing countless weddings at UD’s Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception. This is my favorite wedding ceremony church in Dayton. The natural light coming from the north and south windows casts a beautiful light on the audience and the altar. I love this place!
I have also photographed UD engagement sessions, UD senior photos, and UD weddings. Endless ideas for photos here, but I will use your suggestions as well.
I have seen every inch of campus and have tons of ideas for cool places to shoot. There are certain times of day that are better in certain spots as is the case with any location. Several spots on campus are good for group photos and believe me, I have used them all. The only thing I didn’t shoot on a regular basis was athletics. I did photograph a few UD Flyers Men’s Basketball games over the years. It was challenging but fun to sit on the floor for a game or two. I enjoy being a Dayton commercial photographer.
