The Willow Tree is located about five minutes west of I-75 on State Route 571. The historic property dates back to the 1800s and sits on a large piece of farmland surrounded by open fields.

One of my favorite things about The Willow Tree is the variety of locations available for wedding photography.
The combination of the historic brick house, barn, pond, bridge, willow trees, and surrounding farmland creates plenty of variety without requiring a long drive between photo locations.
You can photograph wedding portraits around the historic house, use the trees and pond for outdoor portraits, or take advantage of the barn and surrounding fields.
The property has a very authentic country feel. It does not feel like a barn was simply added to a modern event property. The historic house and farmland have been part of the property for generations.
My Willow Tree Wedding Photography Experience
In the fall of 2022, I photographed my 224th wedding at The Willow Tree.
It was a small wedding with about 50 guests, and the couple knew how to have a great time. The bride and groom danced and celebrated throughout the night, and the groom especially was having the time of his life.
That wedding was a great example of what can make a smaller wedding so much fun. Everyone was there to celebrate with the couple, and the atmosphere was relaxed and personal.
The Willow Tree also gave us plenty of options for photographs throughout the wedding day.

The venue does not have air conditioning, although the property often benefits from breezes moving across the surrounding farm fields. This is something I would consider carefully when planning a summer wedding.
Tips for Getting Ready at The Willow Tree
One thing I would plan ahead for is where everyone will get ready.
The bridal suite is small and is best suited for one or two bridesmaids getting ready or for quick touch-ups before the ceremony. I would not recommend trying to have a large bridal party get ready in the room.
For a larger wedding party, I recommend getting ready at a hotel and then coming to The Willow Tree for the wedding.
That gives everyone more space and can also make the beginning of the wedding day much less crowded.

Barn wedding venues offer something that is difficult to recreate in a traditional banquet hall.
