Nine Inch Nails Peel It Back Tour Los Angeles & Columbus

Nine Inch Nails At Kia Forum 2025

Seeing All The Greats In Concert

I made the decision a few years ago that I wanted to see as many of the older, great musicians before they stop touring. By no means is Nine Inch Nails old, but they aren’t a prolific touring artist. So, I made the decision to fly to Los Angeles for the weekend in 2025 to see them at the historic Kia Forum, Inglewood, California. I had no idea what a great show I was about to see.

The Forum

The Kia Forum shares a parking lot with SoFi Stadium where I have been twice in the last couple of years. It is the most amazing stadium I have ever been to. Walking up to The Forum, you immediately realize the historic natures of this concert and event venue in Los Angeles. The building is circular with multiple ramps mimicking the shape of the building. Normally, when you enter a venue, there is a huge concourse with bright lighting that usually encircles the seating bowl. At The Forum, the concourses were small, dark, and disconnected from the others. It was cool but off-putting because it was different from everywhere else.

Parking

The event venues in Los Angeles offer the best parking experiences I have ever had. With hundreds of shows per years and millions of residents and tourists, they have to be on their game. I got to the show plenty early, and got an excellent $60 parking spot 1/10 mile away from The Forum. Since this venue holds less than 20,000 attendees, it is much quicker to park that for a Rams or Chargers game. Because I stay in Manhattan Beach, it is only 15 minutes back to my hotel. On a side note, parking at the California Science Center during an MLS game was equally easy.

As far as concert venues in L.A. go, The Forum was nice. However, the Hollywood Bowl is a far superior concert venue.

Why I Went Again

The night in 2025 I went to the NIN concert in Los Angeles, I had to leave early. In order to get home the next day, I had to get up at 2:30am. The show started at 9pm, so that is very little time to get to the hotel and sleep. When I saw they were coming within an hour of my house, I bought a ticket. This time, I stayed until the end, watching a 21 song set packed with the most outrageous light show I have ever seen. The final song, Hurt, was beautiful to hear in person. The show started and ended on quiet songs, which most artists won’t do. It was amazing!

The Schottenstein Center

My history with OSU’s Schottenstein Center goes back to when it was built in 1998. I used to play in the OSU sports band when the center first opened. So, it is a nice place to return to. I don’t love that it is OSU, and it doesn’t have much personality. It is an arena from the 1990s. But, they get good, large shows, and it is easy to get to.

Parking

The majority of concertgoers park in the parking lots to the east and north of the venue. Using GPS takes me to those parking lot as well. However, I disregard the directions. Having lived at OSU for 2 years in the 90s, I know my way around. I know the best parking lot to use. Easy to get to, easy to get to 315 from. I won’t reveal this lot, but it makes going to Schottenstein Center so much better. For the last 10 years, I have parked in this lot. Amazing!
