On a 93-degree day in June 2018, I photographed a stunning couple at Memorial Hall Dayton. I also photographed them at Antioch Shrine Center Dayton. Both are wedding venues in downtown Dayton, Ohio. The wedding was short and sweet, and due to having no air-conditioning in Memorial Hall, it was sweltering in the grand lobby.
After we boarded the party bus, we made a stop at 3rd Street and Edwin C. Moses Boulevard to create wedding party portraits with downtown Dayton in the background. Then we headed to Troll Pub on Wayne Avenue for the wedding party to get a quick drink. We ended the day at Antioch Temple at the corner of 1st Street and Jefferson Street.
The bride and groom booked the second-floor upper ballroom, and the wedding reception was awesome. I wanted to give props to the staff at Antioch Temple and to Mrs. B’s Catering! The catering staff set up a giant shrimp cocktail display off in one of the wings. This area is dedicated to the caterer during weddings and had sufficient space for everything.
The upper ballroom at the Antioch Shrine Center Dayton was unbelievable. Decor is much more modern that anywhere in the rest of the building. I drive by the building all the time (updating this blog in 2025) and it still amazes me how good this venue was.
Tip: You get 50+ free parking spaces for wedding guests. Not many other downtown Dayton wedding venues offer this.
“Thank you Kevin Lush Photography LLC for all of the amazing pictures, we absolutely love all of them!! You captured all of the beautiful moments of our wedding, and it is so fun to look back on our special day and remember all of the details! Also, Kevin did a great job capturing our guests having a blast at the reception! The coffee table book is so awesome, we love looking at it. And the fact that we were able to download all of our wedding photos and print however many we want, all included in the cost, is such a great added bonus!!” – Heather B.
