My Take On Having A Wedding Here:

As a long-time Dayton wedding photographer, I love photographing at this Dayton wedding venue between just north of Dayton International Airport. It is a great wedding reception venue in the Dayton Ohio area that offers full catering, a bar, a screened-in pavilion, a gazebo, a pond, and more. There are great places designed for beautiful images for Dayton area brides. Therefore, this is one of the best reception venues in the Dayton, Ohio area. Photographers would be well served to book any wedding you can for this venue. Another thing I want to say is that it does not disappoint!

The Outdoor Spaces

The options for photographing outdoors are plentiful. Not only is there a large pond and fountain, but the operators placed artistic pieces throughout the wooded area. These are specifically for wedding couple photos. Combining them with an off-camera flash, you can get some pretty cool photos. I love photographing from the south side of the pond through the large pergola. This provides a compressed multi-layer photo that I can’t get enough of.

On the north side of the venue is a wild grass field complete with a couples’ swing, a defunct butterfly house, and a small fountain. My personal favorite is to do sunset photos of the area with the sunset behind the couple and myself shooting through the top of the grasses. The orange glow coming through the grass is top-notch for me.

The “Indoor” Or Covered Spaces

This is the most unique indoor space in all of Dayton. It is indoor in the sense that it is permanently covered but has screens for walls. Never would I consider hosting a cold weather event at Cedar Springs. The last wedding I did there was in the late Autumn, and it was perfect with the late evening cool breeze. The covered section is a large concrete area perfect for 10-15 tables, a head table, and a cake table. Things can be arranged to make the dance floor huge.

Restroom facilities are normal and suitable for weddings. These are not portable restrooms.

The Bar And Buffet Area

This area is on the north side of the covered area and is large enough for people to get food and drinks without obstruction. It is probably one of the best combined areas in Dayton. There is nothing to keep wind, rain, or cold air from this area, so keep that in mind. The staff is always excellent as well.

The Wedding Gazebo

The wedding gazebo sits to the west of the indoor area and is completely uncovered. This gazebo is the backdrop for ceremonies and backs right up to the pond. Guests are seated in rows uphill from the wedding couple. I love seeing all the guests fill out this area, but large wedding parties don’t fit well at the front. Lots of guest + small wedding party or just the couple = perfect! Although it is your wedding, so I’ll photograph whatever I see.

Lastly, wedding photos can be highly unique due to all of the locations and backdrops this Dayton wedding venue has to offer.

Tip: Give good directions because it is easy to drive by. The property sits at the back of a light industrial site which doesn’t look like a wedding venue.
