Inside, the spacious pavilion boasts elegant decor, creating a cozy atmosphere for receptions and celebrations. Any theme you have for a wedding will work with the aesthetics of this place. With its covered reception building and open walls, Cedar Springs Pavilion truly sets the stage for unforgettable weddings that exceed all expectations.
As a long-time Dayton wedding photographer, I love photographing at this Dayton wedding venue between just north of Dayton International Airport. It is a great wedding reception venue in the Dayton Ohio area that offers full catering, a bar, a screened-in pavilion, a gazebo, a pond, and more. Dayton area brides will find many great places designed for beautiful images. This venue stands out as one of the best reception spots in the Dayton, Ohio area. Photographers should book any wedding they can here—it never disappoints!
The options for photographing outdoors are plentiful. Not only is there a large pond and fountain, but the operators placed artistic pieces throughout the wooded area. These are specifically for wedding couple photos. Combining them with an off-camera flash, you can get some pretty cool photos. I love photographing from the south side of the pond through the large pergola. This provides a compressed multi-layer photo that I can’t get enough of.
On the north side of the venue is a wild grass field containing a couples’ swing, a defunct butterfly house, and a small fountain. My personal favorite is to do sunset photos of the area with the sunset behind the couple and myself shooting through the top of the grasses. The orange glow coming through the grass is top-notch for me.
This is the most unique indoor space in all of Dayton. It is indoor in the sense that it is permanently covered but has screens for walls. Never would I consider hosting a cold weather event at Cedar Springs. The last wedding I did there was in the late Autumn, and it was perfect with the late evening cool breeze. The covered section is a large concrete area perfect for 10-15 tables, a head table, and a cake table. Things can be arranged to make the dance floor huge.
Restroom facilities are normal and suitable for weddings. These are not portable restrooms.
This area is on the north side of the covered area and is large enough for people to get food and drinks without obstruction. It is probably one of the best combined areas in Dayton. There is nothing to keep wind, rain, or cold air from this area, so keep that in mind. The staff is always excellent as well.
The wedding gazebo sits to the west of the indoor area and is completely uncovered. This gazebo is the backdrop for ceremonies and backs right up to the pond. Guests are seated in rows uphill from the wedding couple. I love seeing all the guests fill out this area, but large wedding parties don’t fit well at the front. Lots of guest + small wedding party or just the couple = perfect! Although it is your wedding, so I’ll photograph whatever I see.
Lastly, wedding photos can be highly unique due to all of the locations and backdrops this Dayton wedding venue has to offer.
Tip: Give good directions because it is easy to drive by. The property sits at the back of a light industrial site which doesn’t look like a wedding venue.

It’s been a couple of years since I photographed a wedding at Cedar Springs Pavilion in Tipp City, Ohio. This unique venue is one of my favorites. Of all the places I shoot, its indoor-outdoor setup stands out. On nice days, the reception space is open-air. On cooler or windy days, screens drop along the pillars to block the wind and keep it warmer. No other venue I’ve visited has this feature.
At the August 2024 wedding, only the west windscreens were down, creating a comfortable reception. The north and south screens stayed up, offering views of the pond and the stunning summer sunset. If the couple wanted the screens lowered to reduce bugs, the venue would allow it.
The grounds offer a unique setting. A large pond and fountain sit just south of the reception building. Beyond them, a heavily wooded area provides a scenic spot for wedding photos. A beautiful decorative pergola on the south side of the pond frames the couple perfectly with the reception building in the background. To the north, a pollinator field, a couples swing, and a fountain enhance the view. These features, paired with an amazing sunset, create unforgettable wedding photos.
I photograph weddings across Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. Most of my Dayton weddings are downtown or south of the city in places like Centerville, Bellbrook, and Miamisburg. Venues north of downtown are fewer but always unique. Weddings in the northern Miami Valley feel more relaxed. I’m not sure why. Maybe the venues aren’t used as often or are run differently. I always enjoy shooting weddings north of Dayton at other Dayton wedding venues.
On a side note, I am an aviation photographer, and planes are landing over this venue every day. I love this aspect of this venue.
