620 Geyer Street in the Dayton View Historic District is an abandoned warehouse with a unique shape. The wedge-shaped or pie-shaped building sits in the middle of an old neighborhood. It is a beautiful reminder of the history of Dayton, Ohio.
One day the owner messaged me on Instagram to invite me out to photograph the interior and contents. The next day I spent hours photographing every floors packed with everything from vintage bikes to phone books to mannequins. It was an unbelievable sight knowing that someone put all this stuff into the building. He would have me back 6 months later to photograph this now-empty property.
Over the years, I have been in many junk-filled buildings scrounging for collectibles, jukeboxes, Coke machines, and anything else my dad wanted to look for. So when I entered this building, it was completely familiar to me. This interior exploration took me to all floors, over and behind thousands of disused items. It was a sight to behold. When I visited again, I could see the beautiful interior of this place without all the junk. I enjoy being a Dayton commercial photographer.
