On one of the hottest days of the year in Dayton, Ohio, I photographed a truly great wedding at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. This was my third Greek wedding and my 236th overall. There were several factors that made the day great, with the couple being the best. The heat wave kept us mostly indoors, but the A/C held up.
This couple was the most communicative I’ve ever had. They provided all the details I needed, and my pre-wedding worksheet was brimming with info. I knew every detail of the timeline, the other vendor info, and every photo she wanted. The icing on the cake was the couple was very photogenic. I knew this going in from their engagement session at Cox Arboretum.
This was only the second wedding reception I had been to in the community center at the church. It is very convenient and spacious. There is a spacious, albeit hot kitchen for the catering staff. The DJ was perched on the stage, where he commanded everyone’s attention. Plenty of space for the bartender was nice as well. It isn’t every wedding where there is ample space for the wedding vendors. My favorite aspect of the reception hall was the half-dome windows with views of the church dome and room.
