Frigid 17 Degree Wedding At Beautiful Hanover Reserve Wedding And Event Center In Hamilton Ohio

My first wedding of 2026 and 257th since 2007 took place at Hanover Reserve in Hamilton, Ohio. On this January day, it was 30 degrees and felt like 17 degrees due to the wind chill. This wedding couple chose to have an outdoor ceremony in January, and they were handed a very cold day. Everyone was in great spirits joking about the weather. The ceremony was 10 minutes, so exposure to the cold temperature was limited…for some. For the bride, groom, wedding party, and me, our time outside was much longer. What a memorable day!

About Hanover Reserve

Hanover Reserve is a purpose-built wedding, reception, and event space in Butler County, Ohio, 45 minutes from downtown Dayton and 40 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. Sitting on 46 acres of countryside, this giant brown barn built in 2020 is a great choice for large weddings and events. There were 315 attendees at this wedding, but the venue did not feel crowded. For warm weather weddings, I would imagine it could handle 400-450 guests considering the outside space.

The Property

Rolling hills, acres of trees, and an approximately 2-acre lake fill the property, with the lake set directly behind the outdoor ceremony location. When you turn onto the property, there is a sign welcoming you and a long driveway. Parking is not a problem here as there are dozens and dozens of spaces. Outside of the building itself is the west facing outdoor patio which was, for us, the ceremony location. I would guess on warm day, the north side covered porch can be use for guests to hang out outside.

Inside Space

The inside feature seating for several hundred, a 50 foot built in bar, areas for a photo booth, and a dance floor. The main entrance on the east side is flanked by two getting ready rooms. There is space in the entryway for a guest book table and a gift table. An area to hang coats is present, but it not large enough for 315 guests in the dead of winter. Most of the year it wouldn’t be a problem.

For The Wedding Party

Two wedding preparation suites were available for the wedding couple. The one used by the bride had hair/makeup stations and a couch. We used a small fridge and a generously sized countertop to provide drinks and snacks for everyone. I hadn’t seen a fridge like this at many other venues. The one used by the groom had a pool table, couch, and a high top table. Of course, the bride’s room was bright and white. The groom’s was darker and moodier. It also had a fridge and counter for snacks. Locks were present on both doors, but the wedding party did not use it at this event.

Choose This Large Wedding Venue
