When planning my trip to London in March 2023, my biggest concern was figuring out where to stay. London is an enormous city with countless neighborhoods, hotels, and Airbnbs, and I didn’t know where to begin. Over six months, I watched about 120 hours of YouTube videos to research the best areas to stay and things to do. The general consensus was to either stay in a bustling, touristy area at a big-name hotel like a Marriott or Hilton or choose a more charming neighborhood like Covent Garden.
Ultimately, I decided on CV, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. We stayed at Club Quarters, which was a hidden gem. If you walked by it, you might not even notice it—it faced a small park and was tucked away off the main street, making it wonderfully quiet. The location was ideal. While Covent Garden is a sizable area, our hotel was about a 15-minute walk from the main tourist hub, filled with restaurants, bars, shops, and all the essentials. However, the area around our hotel felt more local, with fewer tourists and a more authentic London vibe.
Covent Garden was an excellent base for exploring the city. We did many tourist activities and were able to navigate London easily using a combination of buses, the Tube, and cabs. Our hotel was conveniently located right next to a Tube station, which made transportation incredibly easy. We could also walk to the heart of Covent Garden whenever we wanted to dine, shop, or sightsee, which was a bonus.
If you’re planning a trip to London, I highly recommend staying in Covent Garden. It offers a great mix of quiet, local charm, and easy access to everything you’d want to experience in the city. London is an amazing city for travel photography.
