Photographing Jets For Sale
One of the 2025 commercial photography jobs I did was to photograph a Cessna 525 business jet, N507HP. This was located at Lunken Airfield in Cincinnati, Ohio. This particular jet was located at Signature Aviation FBO but was being sold by a jet broker / aircraft broker based out of state. As a commercial and aviation photographer, I was thrilled at the opportunity.
I have been the official photographer for OnFlight Aviation at Lunken, so I am very familiar with the airport. Signature Aviation is located perpendicular to OnFlight, and they have a very prominent hanger that is easy to find. I met my contact at the door and walked to the Cessna 525. As always, I get the requirements from the company that hired me. I know the deliverables for the project, and I work quickly to complete the job.
For this job, I had to photograph the cabin of the aircraft as well as the exterior. Interior shot I require external power to light up the airplane and to power the avionics. I feel these are two important parts of photographing the airplanes. Usually, with permission, I fly the drone inside the hangar. This is permitted by my FAA drone certification. I do not fly the drone outside the hangar. I always clear this with my contact at the various FBOs or hangar operators.
About The Cessna 525
Also know as CitationJet or CJ series, it represents one of the most successful light business jet families. This Cessna was first introduced in 1989 as a response to the growing demand for a small, efficient, and easy-to-fly jets. The aircraft made its first flight in 1991 and entered service in 1993. Since then, it has become a favorite among corporate operators, private owners, and air taxi services. This particular jet was beautiful inside and out.
