Travel Photographer Based In Dayton

On a cool late summer day in September 2020, I traveled to Chicago to do my first traveling engagement shoot. This bride and groom (who are awesome) are getting married in Dayton, Ohio but live in Chicago. Travel photography is one of my passions, so when I get a chance to visit a new city I get excited. In 2019, I visited downtown Baltimore, Maryland for the first time. I spent a day photographing Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Harbor East, downtown Baltimore, and surrounding neighborhoods. Below are photos of downtown Baltimore and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

On a fall afternoon, I spent a few hours wandering around downtown Louisville, Kentucky. One location I wanted to photograph was Louisville Waterfront Park. This unique park is situated on the Ohio River facing Indiana and is a multi-acre park that has concert areas, green space, playgrounds, and a railroad bridge called The Big Four Bridge. The approach to the bridge is 1/4 mile and has an awesome looping ramp. I spent a while photographing the Ohio River, the bridge, Indiana, and Kentucky. The bridge is beautiful and is a great reuse of an abandoned railroad bridge.

Chicago has been one of my favorite cities to photograph since my first visit 17 years ago. Over the years, I photographed Chicago with a film point-and-shoot digital camera, and most recently, DSLR cameras. No matter what I’m using, I try to find interesting angles and objects to photograph. Anyone who is a fan of architecture, public transit, or big cities will love photographing the Windy City. As a wedding and engagement photographer, I walk around the city looking for picturesque locations where I love to photograph brides and grooms. Some of the images below are examples from a Summer 2018 trip to scout locations around Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and Chicago River.
