Two B-17 Flying Fortresses, five P-51 Mustangs, and the movie version of the Memphis Belle rumbled over the National Museum of The United States Air Force just before 11 am on May 16, 2017. The planes came from the northeast and flew southwest directly over the Air Force Museum. I had the opportunity to photograph these beautiful WWII aircraft, and it was awesome!
The group of vintage World War II aircraft flew several passes over the museum rumbling loudly and slowly over Dayton, Ohio. From a distance, they looked like crows flying toward us. They flew fairly high, so it was difficult to get good up-close aviation shots. But I do what I can with what I have. I cannot imagine the imposing look and sound these planes would have presented during the war. These are magnificent military aircraft that are restored and maintained very well. I am for hire as an aviation photographer.
