The most amazing place I have visited in the last 25 years is Seattle Washington. My wife and I have been to beaches, big cities, mountains, deserts, and islands. For me, it doesn’t get any better than Seattle Washington, and the Pacific Northwest. Five stars is not a high enough rating for this part of North America. My goal for this trip was to create iconic Seattle Washington photos to cherish forever.
On our fourth day in the Pacific Northwest, we took the Washington State Ferry from downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island. The moment the ferry pulled away from the pier, I felt as if I was in a different world. The authentic vintage ferry was huge and beautiful. As we left the Seattle skyline and a Norwegian cruise ship in the distance, we approached Bainbridge Island. This island features a great little town, good restaurants, and local shopping. I highly recommend spending a day on the quaint island.
Other Seattle attractions we loved were the Space Needle, Sky View Observatory, Museum of Pop Culture, the Seattle Monorail, REI flagship store, and the Seattle Spheres of Amazon. In just one day we logged over 40,000 steps doing just some of these fun Seattle attractions. On our first day, we did one of my favorite things on trips, we took a boat cruise tour. Seattle’s best boat tour is with Argosy Cruises. The ship leaves from a convenient dock next to The Seattle Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium.
Growing up a fan of grunge music like Pearl Jam and Nirvana, I was in love with the Museum of Pop Culture’s two exhibits on the bands. The exhibits were extra powerful because the band was formed in and around Seattle. This museum is a must-see attraction.
One thing I always do on vacation is scout portrait sites. Seattle has some of the best engagement session locations I have ever seen. I am a Dayton Ohio based travel photographer.
