McGuffey Lane, a band based in Columbus, Ohio, played to an energetic crowd at Kettering, Ohio’s Fraze Pavilion last night. This was my 25th concert as a Dayton concert photographer and was the fifth time I’ve photographed this country-rock group. (I count all of my McGuffey Lane shows as 1 concert out of 25) Fraze Pavilion is a Dayton venue that competes directly with the Rose Music Center At The Heights in Huber Heights, Ohio. The images below are 15 of my 376 Dayton concert photography images from this fun show.
Because I know the members of the band, I had an all-access pass for the show! I get to be in the dressing room, stage left, stage right, and more. The drummer often motions for me to step onto the drum riser as he is playing. This is a concert photo that only the official tour photographer can get. While they play music I don’t listen to much, they are really good musicians. I owe them a huge thank you for allowing me this special access.
It is so cool being a concert photographer!
McGuffey Lane gave me my unofficial start in live music photography. They allowed me to photograph them before I had any professional gigs. Then I was able to work my way into photographing Shawn Mendes at the Rose Music Center. I have photographed McGuffey Lane several times at Fraze as well as at Rip Rap Roadhouse.
