London Travel Photos Captured On Our First Trip To England United Kingdom 2024

My Favorite London Travel Photos I Captured

In March 2024, I surprised my wife and daughter with a trip to London, England. It was our first time visiting the city, and it was unforgettable. I had planned the trip months earlier, deciding in September 2023 to make it a Christmas gift. This gave us three months to prepare and to figure out which London travel photos I wanted to create.

I spent hours researching and watching videos about London. We planned our must-see spots together. My wife wanted to visit Shakespeare’s Globe. My daughter was curious about a Victorian underground toilet turned coffee shop. I was excited to see Westminster Abbey, a place I’ve admired for years.

We packed our itinerary with markets, landmarks, and neighborhoods. Despite the plans, we kept a relaxed pace. We enjoyed coffee breaks, bus rides, and soaking in the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

Creating London Travel Photos With My iPhone

I made a big choice to leave my professional camera at home. Instead, I used my iPhone for photos. It was lighter, easier to carry, and less of a worry. With the right apps and creativity, I captured stunning long-exposure and night shots. I’ve always believed the camera is just a tool. Great photos come from vision, not expensive equipment.

The photos I took became some of my favorites. I captured Big Ben, the London Eye, Shakespeare’s Globe, and Tower Bridge. One shot of Tower Bridge stands out. I took it from a boat on the Thames as it perfectly aligned with the river. The symmetry and background were just right. It’s one of my best shots ever.

Covent Garden

Another favorite was taken in Covent Garden. It’s a nighttime street scene with clear buildings and blurred car lights. I used a long-exposure app to create the effect. The photo turned out beautifully and now hangs in our home.

Our trip to London was everything we dreamed of. It was full of history, adventure, and creativity. Below are some of my favorite photos from the trip, capturing the city we fell in love with.
