On a fall 2018 afternoon, I spent a few hours wandering around downtown Louisville, Kentucky. One location I wanted to photograph was 4th Street Live Louisville, downtown Louisville’s entertainment district. This entertainment district is just a few blocks south of “Museum Row” also known as Main Street. There are numerous restaurants, an outdoor live music stage, bowling, and more! Although it was a Tuesday afternoon when I visited, there were still people around. I am sure that on evenings and weekends, this is the place to be, especially for tourists! Make sure to check out the Hard Rock Cafe and its giant neon guitar.
Located in the heart of downtown are restaurants and taverns, a Gordon Biersch restaurant, the Muhammad Ali Center (right on the Ohio River), and many other entertainment venues. You could spend a weekend or two just trying out each of these places. If you throw in the Louisville Slugger Museum and all the bourbon distilleries, you can call this an entertainment destination. Howl At The Moon Saloon and the live music concert series during the summer would make this even more fun.
If you have a few hours free in Louisville, take some time to walk around. There are so many unique buildings, interesting angles, and historic properties. This would be a great city to photograph newly engaged couples for the engagement sessions. I would also love to photograph weddings in downtown Louisville!
Just to the east of downtown is the Angels’s Envy bourbon distillery, the Lynn Family Stadium (Louisville City FC soccer), and the Louisville Slugger field/ball park. Various historical sites litter the area, although I have not had time to photograph any yet. Check out GoToLouisville.com for all the tourist information about this city.
One of my goals is to photograph a downtown Louisville Kentucky engagement session or wedding. There are several amazing bourbon distilleries, breweries, and unique buildings. Call or email me if you’d like me to be your Louisville engagement photographer or Louisville wedding photographer! I am a Dayton Ohio based travel photographer.
