“Excellent photographer and very professional!!” This is the kind of review every photographer lives for. This couple braved a cold day at Dayton’s busiest MetroPark to create some fun portraits. They were a beautiful couple whose outfits were absolutely perfect for the cold park setting. In addition to their fall color outfits, they changed into matching “just married” t-shirts. I gave them mad props for braving the cold with long sleeves and even bigger props when they walked around in their short sleeves. These two grooms made my 215th wedding as a wedding photographer in Dayton Ohio so great. I have photographed several LGBTQ weddings in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus, but this was my first wedding with two grooms. We had a great 30 minute portrait session at sunset on a golf course in 30 degree temperatures. They were so great following my subtle directions and even had ideas of their own. The awesome floral artists at Beavercreek Florist in Beavercreek Ohio put up one heck of a beautiful display of floral arrangements at my Dayton Arcade wedding in October 2021. The flowers were impeccable both on the tables and in the bouquets. They complemented the beauty of the Dayton Arcade. In 2022 I began surprising wedding couples with a 2-5 minute wedding highlight video. The video below is from a fun wedding at Tipp City’s barn-themed wedding venue, The Willow Tree. It shows the personalities of the bride and groom as well as some aspects of this historic property. I love that this couple wanted an American Gothic style photo in front of the house.

Wedding clients often ask me what my favorite moment of a wedding is. I have one, and it isn’t what most people expect. The best Dayton wedding moment (or Cincinnati wedding moment or Columbus wedding moment) is the 30 seconds after the ceremony when the wedding couple is walking up the aisle to cheering guests. The photos are always of pure joy, and it is the only moment of the wedding day where they are truly happy and relieved. For that one minute, they are relieved the ceremony is over and they are not thinking about any planning or details. Pure joy!
