In May 2019, a series of tornados struck various parts of Dayton, Ohio. The hardest-hit areas were Trotwood and Harrison Township. One of the largest structures to sustain damage was the Hara Arena concert venue in Trotwood, Ohio. Hara, to many, was the hottest concert and event venue in Dayton for decades. It hosted some […]
Alan Jackson began his 2020 world tour at Cincinnati’s Heritage Bank Center on January 10, 2020. This decades-old area was formerly U.S. Bank Arena, FirstStar Center, The Crown, and Riverfront Coliseum. Steel Blossoms, a house band at Jackson’s Nashville bar opened the show was Steel Blossoms. Tenille Townes was the next opener and played a fantastic set that was lively and entertaining. Alan Jackson was amazing and came out playing to the sold-out audience. During one song, he put down the guitar to throw t-shirts to the crowd.
Slayer lit up the stage at Nationwide Arena, on November 12, 2019. This was the wildest concert I have photographed in my 5 years as a Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus concert photographer. There were numerous pyrotechnics and dozens of crowd surfers. Check out more concert photography here.
September 4, 2019, Our Lady Peace opened for Bush and Live at The Rose Music Center At The Heights in Huber Heights, Ohio. The show was nearly sold out, and the crowd was in a collective great mood. Here are a few images of Live on stage for the Dayton area audience. It was a great concert on a cool summer evening. Thanks to CincyMusic.com for allowing me to shoot for them!

Dave Matthews Band Concert Riverbend Music Center July 2 2019
Thanks to CincyMusic.com for the access to photograph the Chicago concert at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, Ohio! It is so cool being a concert photographer! Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I was forced to hear bands like Chicago and Hall & Oates for years. In fact, stores and restaurants are still playing this music. Although I don’t love the music, I jumped at the chance to shoot Chicago.
February 2, 1993, was my very first concert which was Metallica in the front row at E.J. Nutter Center. On January 30, 2019, I was able to photograph Metallica for CityBeat. It was an honor, and it was amazing!
George Thorogood rocked the Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, Ohio in July 2018. This was such a fun concert to photograph. George played great music and came right to the cameras to perform.
I am currently in my 4th year as a professional concert photographer in Dayton and Cincinnati, and I accomplished one of my bucket list items two weeks ago. After months of emails and work, I got approved (by DMB’s awesome PR team) to photograph Dave Matthews Band at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati Ohio on behalf of CityBeat Cincinnati. I wanted to publish these images starting the night of the concert, June 7, 2018, but the photo release I signed forbid this. So, I took it upon myself to get the proper written permission to post these photos. CityBeat published many of these images (legally) the day after the show.
