Alright, let’s talk about the Intuit Dome—the Los Angeles Clippers’ awesome home in Inglewood. I love Inglewood because LAX is right next door, and I am an aviation photographer. This is a $2 billion, high-tech, fan-first basketball arena that opened in August 2024. Let me tell you—I didn’t get just another arena vibe from it. The place radiates a whole different energy. But honestly, I’m not sure I liked that vibe; it felt too tech-forward for my taste.
First off, the design is wild. The Dome’s signature feature is the Halo Board, a massive, double-sided 4K video screen that wraps around the arena like a glowing doughnut. Coincidentally, the Famous Randy’s Donuts is very close by! It’s nearly an acre in size and can blast replays, stats, and even launch t-shirts into the upper deck . Yeah, there’s a t-shirt cannon system built into it that can reach all 18,000 seats. What an ideas!
Speaking of fans, there’s The Wall—a 51-row section of diehard Clippers supporters sitting right behind the visiting team’s bench. It is designed to be loud, intimidating, and totally Clippers-centric. You even need a special Chuckmark approval to buy tickets there. We stayed near center court but The Wall looked very steep and intimidating.
But it’s not just about basketball. The Dome is packed with tech and comfort. Every seat has a USB-C charging port and LED lights, and the arena uses facial recognition for entry and in-seat food ordering. The facial recognition is something that is unnecessary and invasive in my opinion. Plus, there are over 1,100 toilets so you’re not missing half the game waiting in line.
Outside, there’s a public plaza with basketball courts, a stage, and a giant screen so even non-ticket holders can soak up the atmosphere. This is also open on non-event days as a public space.
The Clippers played their first regular-season game here in October 2024, and the arena has already hosted concerts by Bruno Mars, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.
In short, the Intuit Dome isn’t just a new arena—it’s a statement next to the other statement, SoFi Stadium. The Clippers are carving out their own identity in L.A., and this place is the heart of it. Whether you’re a diehard fan or just looking for a cool spot to catch a game or concert, the Dome’s got you covered.
During events, parking is, of course, paid. What surprised me was the free parking for tours. I was fully expecting to spend $20 to $30 to park, but the attendant waived me through the gate. It turns out that for tours or Clippers store shopping at non-event
Not only is this arena brand new, but it feels very intimate. The outside basketball court, art, and play areas are all available to the public during normal business hours. Entertainment venues, houses, and businesses surround Intuit Dome instead of downtown L.A. skyscrapers. Everything is low to the ground in the area due to the LAX flight paths.
