The Oscar Event Center Wedding Venue Information And Photos

Why Is Oscar Event Center Awesome

What do you get when you combine an amazing wedding couple, a classy group of people, and a grocery store? A fantastic 240th wedding for this Dayton and Cincinnati wedding photographer. The Oscar Event Center is one of the best wedding venues I have ever been to. Surprisingly, it is part of Jungle Jim’s eclectic grocery store in Fairfield, Ohio near Cincinnati.

I had seen photos of the space leading up to the wedding. Having lived in Cincinnati a while ago, I had also been to Jungle Jim’s grocery store. So when I arrived and parked in front of the grocery store, I was still skeptical. Once I walked through the doors, I was blown away by how beautiful the venue was.

Entering The Spaces

The entryway is on ground level and features a beautiful elegant staircase leading upstairs. On the main floor is a coat check area. The large event space that can be divided into three separate functional areas is also there. On the day I was there, ceremony space, spare space, and reception space was used. A good-sized bridal suite provided plenty of space to hang out between events. There is an outdoor patio that overlooks the parking lot but it is a nice feature.

Also on the second floor is a really well-themed bar area separate from everything else. This served as the location of cocktail hour, the main family photo location, and the bar for the wedding. It was perfect, and two large door areas opened up to the reception area.

The wedding area was fine. It has pipe and drape as well as a small stage and rows of chairs. The reception space had round tables, a giant head table, and tons of space. I am guessing a party of up to 400 could be accommodated if all three spaces were used. Although the lighting and decor tended to be darker, the style was modern and classy.

Parking And More

Parking at Oscar Event Center is plentiful but challenging.  Since this event space is attached to the grocery and various other stores (Starbucks Coffee, Jersey Mike’s, etc.) parking is quite tight.  Around the back of the building, there is ample parking, but up-close spaces are limited.  If handicapped parking is needed, assign a guest to valet park the car for your handicapped or elderly guest.  This will greatly reduce the walking distance for those guests and will make their experience better.  There is an elevator just inside the main entrance to the venue.

The wedding suite or bridal suite is large and well-lit.  Sitting at the back of the event space away from guests is a separate room for getting ready.  An entire wall of mirrors and counter tops provides a great space to do final wedding day touch-ups.  A comfortable set of couches and chairs begs you to relax before the ceremony or reception begins.  Just outside the room is a table. The catering staff stages a small selection of cold drinks there. They also supply a fruit, cheese, and cracker spread for the wedding party.  During getting ready time and wedding photo time, the catering staff also had cold drinks available in the bar area.

Photographing Weddings Here In The Future

I would love to photograph many wedding receptions at Oscar Event Center. This is the perfect indoor reception location in Cincinnati, and I love it!!

Oscar Event Center Review Of My Professional Wedding Photography

“Kevin was amazing!! He was so helpful and kept in constant contact from the time we booked him. He was very professional but not too stiff. (Kevin) has a great, fun-loving attitude. He guided us through the photos, so there’s no need to worry about how to pose or anything. (Kevin) did a great job getting candid photos of everyone, which is something that is really important to us. He really helped us capture our special day from beginning to end.” – Oscar Event Center Review 2024

What Led To A Five-Star Oscar Event Center Review

In 2024, I had the privilege of shooting my very first wedding at the Oscar Event Center, located at Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio. It was an unforgettable experience. Having visited Jungle Jim’s many times while living in Cincinnati, I never knew this wedding venue existed. So, when I arrived, I expected a nice place but wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how incredible the venue turned out to be—it has since become one of my favorite indoor locations to shoot.

The couple I worked with was absolutely wonderful—fun, classy, and just a joy to be around. What made it even better was that they booked me for an 8-hour package, which gave us plenty of time to capture all the moments without rushing. Everything took place in one location, so it was easy to get to, easy to park, and we didn’t have to worry about getting stuck in traffic or losing anyone. It was a smooth, stress-free day, and the bride and groom were incredibly kind with their time. They were open to my ideas and really made me feel like part of their special day.

They were roughly my age and were just the perfect couple for me to work with. As much as I’d love to work with them again, their wedding was perfect! However, I would love to work with more couples like them. Their thoughtful review on Google after the wedding reinforced how much they appreciated my work. Receiving five-star feedback like that truly made my day.

Wedding Day Uncertainty

I had some initial uncertainty about whether I would get a five-star review, especially since it was my first time shooting at the Oscar Event Center. There’s always a bit of doubt when working at a new venue, as there are so many unknowns—like whether the couple will love the photos, whether everything will go smoothly. But knowing I made the day special for them and getting that glowing review was so rewarding. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love being a wedding photographer.
