Carriage Hill MetroPark Photos & Engagement Session Location Information

Carriage Hill MetroPark Description

Carriage Hill MetroPark, an underused park in Huber Heights, Ohio, is a farm-themed engagement location near Dayton Ohio. Often less-crowded, this Dayton park is minutes from downtown and features historic buildings, a creek, and a working farm. There are many options for engagement session spots at this Dayton area park. I like to use the red exterior of the visitor center but have never ventured back to the riding center. Surprisingly, this park is not very popular.

I often take couples to the historic working farm to start their engagement session. The historic home and wooden barns provide beautiful backgrounds for engagement photos as well as insight into family farm life from more than a century ago. During the warmer months, there are full trees and flowers in bloom, each making the park more beautiful. We usually spend the second half of the engagement session by the water, walking along the Cedar Lake boardwalk just east of the visitor’s center. The swampy, heavily wooded area provides several unique photography backdrops. Lastly, if you live north of Dayton or want a more historical engagement session location, Carriage Hill MetroPark may be for you.

What You Can Find At This Farm Engagement Session Location In Huber Heights

These photos were taken at the end of August 2020. They are some of my favorite overview photos of Carriage Hill MetroPark. The intention is to give you a small peek at the various backgrounds you can use for engagement photos. I did not include photos of the cool farmhouse that sits to the south of the creek. The house remains somewhat hidden and farther away from the working farm. However, it will be less busy and provide a quiet area for you and your couple.

This is one of the best photography spots in Dayton for engagement sessions, engagement photo shoots, modeling shoots, family sessions, and more! It is an underused park at all times of the day and all times of the year. I still like to shoot early in the morning or later in the day to get the best light. Lastly, as long as a school group isn’t there, this engagement session location shouldn’t be too busy.
